Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman stated that his team must perform perfectly to defeat the England national team.

The Netherlands will face England in the Euro 2024 semifinals at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund, on Wednesday (July 10, 2024) local time or Thursday at 02:00 WIB.

Ahead of the match, Ronald Koeman mentioned that both teams have equal quality. Therefore, Koeman believes that De Oranje needs a perfect performance to beat England.

The 61-year-old coach also highlighted the way both teams reached the semifinals. According to him, the Netherlands is at an advantage in terms of player fitness as they only needed 90 minutes to defeat Turkey 2-1 in the quarterfinals, while The Three Lions had to play 120 minutes plus penalties to overcome Switzerland.

“We know there’s not much difference between the two teams; I actually think it’s 50-50,” Koeman said, as quoted by from SportsMax. “However, achieving victory will necessitate a flawless performance from us,” emphasized the former Barcelona coach. We acknowledge their abundance of individual quality, yet both teams are equally strong, setting the stage for an intense battle.”

Reaching consecutive European Championship finals would be an incredible achievement and we have the opportunity to do that,” he added.

The winner of the Netherlands vs England match will face Spain in the final. Spain secured their place in the final by defeating France 2-1.
